Future Proofing
>
This tiny home is built to last, ensuring a long-lasting investment for the owner. This tiny house is architecturally designed and engineered to encompass the wide range of environments New Zealand has to offer. Whether that be coastal environments or high wind zones this home can handle it all. It's made with high quality materials which ensures its durability and resilience. One of the great things about the design is its versatility. Every room is thoughtfully planned to serve multiple purposes. The downstairs room can be a study, a third bedroom for guests, or a storage room. Upstairs, you'll find a study area that can also double as extra storage or closet space. The lounge area could also be another sleeping space but also gives you the freedom to decide where to place a dining table, allowing the owners to get creative with living spaces. In addition, the design features a full-size kitchen and ample storage throughout. It may be a Tiny home, but it offers above-average room dimensions and head height, ensuring comfort and convenience. We only used high quality reputable products which guarantee the quality and longevity of this home. We provided our client with a certificate and warranty pack, including our own warranty of five years to support the owner of this build.
Liveability
>
We have incorporated numerous features that enhance the overall liveability of this home and make it a great place to reside. The expansive windows on both levels let in ample natural light and create a sense of connection with the surroundings. The upstairs boasts two spacious bedrooms which provide ample room for rest and relaxation. The master bedroom and upstairs walkway have a generous 195 cm of headroom ensuring comfort for individuals of all heights. Upstairs there is also a study nook that offers a versatile work space. This space can be utilised as both a standing and sitting desk, providing flexibility for different working preferences. This additional workspace allows for two people to comfortably work from home. A standout feature of this home is the downstairs spare room, which serves various functions. It can be utilised as a third sleeping area, an oversized study, or even a second small seating area. This versatility allows residents to adapt the space to their specific needs and preferences. Furthermore, we have strategically incorporated floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the home. These provide an architectural appeal, promote airflow, provide abundant natural light, and access captivating views from every corner of the house. The strategically placed openings create an open and airy atmosphere, amplifying the sense of space and create a seamless indoor-outdoor flow. The interior design of the home includes uninterrupted sections of wall space which allows residents to arrange their furniture and artwork according to their personal preferences. Whether this is choosing the perfect spot for a TV or deciding the preferred orientation of the bed, there are plenty of options available. The focus on liveability in this home is evident in its thoughtful design choices. Every design aspect has been carefully crafted to enhance comfort and to accommodate a variety of homeowner needs. The versatile study nook with its expansive windows, the dedicated dining area, the spacious bedrooms and kitchen, and multi-functional spare room are all enhanced by ample natural and artificial light and the access to views making this a versatile, welcoming and totally liveable tiny home.
Workmanship
>
When it comes to workmanship, no shortcuts have been taken in this build! It's all about doing things the right way and paying attention to the details. The external finish is a high-quality combination of Shadowclad natural texture board and batten cladding, and colorsteel cladding. The interior walls are made of a special material called 36mm Triboard. This product is known for being super strong and for saving space. We opted for natural woods and aluminium for all the cool finishing touches which adds a touch of class and quality throughout. We selected sustainably grown Red Beech for the beautiful stair trim and screens. It's wood that's grown and harvested responsibly, so you can feel good about that and it brings warmth and a high-quality feel to the home. We wanted to make sure that the kitchen was a great space to work in. We installed full-size cabinets and drawers, and the benchtops are made of real wood. We consulted a kitchen specialist to design a kitchen that not only looks terrific and has a great work flow but also allows two people to work comfortably together in this space. Lighting can make or break a space. Our lighting is not only totally effective, it is modern and cool. The internal downlights have the added feature of being dimmed and controlled using Bluetooth. And outside, the lights are strategically placed to give a welcoming vibe that guides you home. This house sits on a super sturdy triple axle trailer made by a local company called Bays Engineering. They are the pros of tiny home trailers, having made hundreds of them. All in all, this house is a masterpiece of workmanship. Qualified professionals worked hard to make sure everything is in line with the building code and done right.
Functionality/Innovation Design
>
We embarked on the design process with our client with a strong commitment to meeting their needs and desires for their tiny home. To ensure a truly exceptional outcome, we collaborated closely with Chris, a talented architect who played a pivotal role in the design of this home. We engaged with numerous individuals to gain a deeper understanding of their unique requirements. Their invaluable input helped to guide our decision-making process, enabling us to prioritise functionality and innovation over mere convenience and cost-effectiveness. The result of this collaborative effort is a thoughtfully crafted floorplan that boasts many standout features. And we designed a stunning wraparound deck, allowing for seamless indoor-outdoor flow through oversized sliding external doors. The stairs are not only functional but also provide cleverly integrated storage solutions with pop-out soft-close drawers. Maximising space in a tiny home is crucial, and these practical additions reflect our commitment to functionality. The inclusion of a full-size walk-through wardrobe, providing ample storage capacity without compromising on the overall layout is a notable feature of the floorplan. We wanted to ensure that every inch of space was utilised effectively to enhance the livability of the home. Working closely with Chris, we paid special attention to the upstairs area. We ensured that there was a generous height to accommodate individuals of varying heights comfortably. The walkthrough wardrobe in the master bedroom provides an added touch of convenience to the daily routine. We prioritised energy efficiency and comfort throughout the home by installing double glazing, which provides excellent insulation. This commitment to sustainability aligns with the Healthy Homes standards, ensuring a cosy and environmentally friendly living space. The bathroom and laundry nook stands as a testament to our dedication to innovative design and functionality. With its floor-to-ceiling window, laundry nook, full size shower and composting toilet and modern design touches, this area offers both style and functionality and demonstrates our ability to optimise both space and functionality effectively. The separate space between the kitchen and lounge areas was carefully designed to create a natural flow from the large sliding entry door. The double-sized opening doors leading onto the deck further enhance the feeling of spaciousness, fulfilling the requirements expressed by those who influenced our design process. With Chris's architectural expertise and our dedication to creating a friendly and inviting space, we are thrilled to present this tiny home design that seamlessly merges functionality and innovation.
