Future Proofing
>
We incorporate future-proofing doors into all our designs, making it easy to seamlessly add extra modules in the future. For example, Gary has chosen to use the "futuproofing door" to expand his Tiny Home by adding an additional bedroom and dressing room, along with a spacious covered porch.
The exterior uses low-maintenance Coloursteel cladding, while timber features are placed under the covered porch. This design choice helps protect the timber from direct sun and rain, meaning it weathers more slowly and requires reoiling far less often.
Liveability
>
Gary enjoys watching TV while preparing dinner, so he opted for a spacious open-plan living area. He also wanted the flexibility to bring the dining table in from the porch for special occasions, so the layout was designed with that versatility in mind.
A dedicated laundry with both washer and dryer, plus a back door for easy outdoor access, was included for convenience. While Gary requested a guest room, he also wanted it to double as a quiet retreat for reading and relaxing. The mezzanine loft has a head height walkway to make it easy to access and it overlooks the living area through a feature wire screen adorned with greenery — creating the perfect elevated chill-out zone.
With double insulation, pinkbats between the framing and Gold foam fully wrapping the exterior of the framing, this house will stay cool in summer and warm in winter. A heat pump is also included in the build.
With double insulation — Pink Batts between the framing and Gold Foam wrapping the entire frame, floor and roof— this home is designed to stay cool in summer and warm in winter. For year-round comfort, a heat pump is also included as part of the build.
Workmanship
>
Our base flashings are carefully designed to optimise the release of any possible condensation while also acting as effective vermin-proofing. Flashings are often underestimated, but they are a vital part of a professional build — all of ours are designed by experts to ensure both performance and a clean finish.
The porch structure is engineered in lightweight aluminium, then clad in timber to achieve the appearance of a solid timber frame. This method not only provides strength and rigidity but also minimises the risk of movement or twisting during transport.
All external plumbing protrusions are boxed and finished with powder-coated flanges, specially designed to be as discreet as possible.
When it comes to timber cladding, the workmanship is a true art form. Our builders take pride in their precision finishing, ensuring every detail is of the highest standard.
Inside, the cabinetry is custom-built by a master craftsman, tailored to each customer’s requirements. In Gary’s home, even the staircase features pull-out drawers with soft-close runners so subtle that visitors often don’t notice them. Every detail, from tapware and handles to fittings, is selected with care. Gary chose copper accents, a theme carried throughout his home — right down to the shower glass, which is set in copper for a striking and cohesive finish.
Functionality/Innovation Design
>
The walkway in the upper mezzanine cleverly creates the perfect space for a laundry area beneath. Gary has made full use of this area with a wash box, washing machine, tumble dryer, and linen cupboard — optimising what is often considered an awkward space.
A back door provides convenient access to the washing line as well as outdoor rubbish and recycling bins.
The wire screen with climbing plants adds privacy while still maintaining a sense of openness, allowing views and natural light to flow through to the living area below.
Aesthetic Appeal & Special Features
>
The cedar features set against the dark Coloursteel cladding, combined with the timber porch, create a sleek and sophisticated exterior.
Inside, the wire screen with lush green creepers replaces what might otherwise be a solid or half wall in the mezzanine. This choice not only provides safety but also enhances the aesthetics, adding beauty when viewed from both the mezzanine and the open-plan living area below.
In the bedroom, glass doors open directly onto the porch, bringing in light and creating a wonderful sense of spaciousness. The addition of a walk-in wardrobe elevates the design — a truly luxurious feature in a tiny home.
